Are you impatient? We're finally announcing the official program for the 32nd Etiuda&Anima International Film Festival, which will take place from October 14-19, 2025.
Pełny program: https://etiudaandanima.pl/en/programme/
The Etiuda&Anima International Film Festival is one of the most important film events in Poland, primarily focused on artistic animation—professional, independent, and student. It features two international competitions: ETIUDA, a competition for student short films from film and art schools around the world, and ANIMA, a competition for short animated films from professional, student, and independent film schools. Selection committees select dozens of titles from these competitions, which are then ultimately judged by an international jury, a student jury, and the audience. Since 2017, we have also held a third competition (in the biennial cycle)—the ANIMA.PL competition—a national competition for professional, student, and independent animated films (to be held in 2026). In 2025, we will hold our first feature-length animation competition—ANIMA 60'+—a significant step in the festival's further development.

During the festival, we award a special prize to an artist who combines creative work with youth education at a film or art school. In 2025, the award will be presented to the distinguished Japanese filmmaker Koji Yamamura. In addition to continuing our acclaimed program (e.g., "Europe in Animation" and "Self-Portraits of Animators"), we are planning numerous accompanying events, including exhibitions ("Black Wall" by Simone Massi, "Family Portrait" by Lea Vidaković), seminars, and workshops (film criticism, creating music for animation, pitching animated films, and stop-motion animation).

Among the special events, we will present Koji Yamamura's selection of the 10 best Japanese animations of all time, a selection from the Finnish animations chosen by Joni Männistö, director of the Turku Animated Film Festival, Bulgarian student animations selected by Radost Neykova of the Varna Animated Film Festival, and a selection of Portuguese student animations selected by Fernando Garlito of the Monstra Animation Festival.
Many of our audiences, of virtually all ages, are also interested in participating in masterclasses led by distinguished animation creators and producers. In 2025, we have invited Peter Lord (the renowned creator and producer at Aardman Studio), Marcin Podolec (animator, comic book creator, and producer, founder of Yellow Tapir Films), and Nuno Beato (the renowned creator and producer from Portugal) to participate in this program.
As part of the Farewells, we will present short animations by renowned creators who have recently passed away – David Lynch and Phil Mulloy.

In the Anima for Kids series, we have prepared thematic sets of short animations and new feature films, including "Ben Nie Ma Leka" (He Has It Easy) and "Hola, Frida." Each screening will be preceded by a lecture. We are also planning animation workshops for children.
As part of the Creative Lab E&A program, and as part of the industry events accompanying the festival, we will host the Talent Market: an event aimed at animation creators, as well as students and graduates of art and film schools. It will consist of a presentation of Polish and European animation studios, as well as a one-on-one meeting session; a case studies zone with the team4set platform, and a VR Corner zone - a selected set of VR animations.
