Volunteering at the 33rd IFF Etiuda&Anima - register

Welcome to the application form page for Volunteers of the 33rd IFF Etuda&Anima. We are glad that you want to be a part of our festival! The form below is intended, in addition to qualifying you for a specific section, to allow us to get to know you better. We will also ask you to post your photo - we get a lot of applications and try to remember each person. This will also ease our cooperation during the festival.

I want to become a volunteer because: *
Have you already worked as a volunteer during the Etuda&Anima festival? *
Have you worked as a volunteer at other festivals before? *
The section in which you would like to work: *
Your task will be to staff the festival reception desk, located at the main festival venue, for the entire duration of the event. Our guests, media representatives and the general public will be visiting the desk. Your role will be to answer their questions, help them find their way around the festival site, provide information about the programme and sell tickets. If you love interacting with people and can provide comprehensive answers to any questions about the festival programme, have plenty of patience, are fluent in English and Polish and want to be at the heart of the action – the reception desk is waiting for you!

IMPORTANT: this department operates on a two-shift system; we’ll need you to be available both in the morning and in the afternoon.
This is our largest team and the one with the most direct contact with our audience. Your duties will include checking tickets before screenings and keeping an eye on the auditorium, as well as assisting our audience where necessary. You’ll be our public face and an integral part of the festival experience for those attending our screenings. You’ll also be responsible for overseeing the audience poll – handing out ballot papers and then counting the votes cast by our audience. If you’re always smiling, enjoy interacting with people and dream of watching as many films as possible – this section is for you!

IMPORTANT: Short film and animation screenings run all day and take place at several venues. We’ll be asking you to be flexible with your availability. Our festival strives to be an accessible and welcoming event; every year we welcome people with disabilities, who may sometimes require additional support. It is possible that this year, too, we will need the help of volunteers who are willing to get more involved in supporting people with disabilities. If you express a willingness to help in this regard, we will train you and prepare you appropriately for this task. Accessibility in culture is a very important issue, and we are doing our bit to contribute to it.
In this section, you’ll get the best insight into what goes on behind the scenes in organising a festival. We’ll need your help with setting up and dismantling, including the festival centre and the exhibitions accompanying our film programme. During the festival, your help will be needed wherever logistical and technical support is required – at exhibitions, during Q&A sessions, or at special programme events. We’ll also ask for your help in coordinating accompanying events – such as galas and banquets – throughout the festival. If you’re a jack-of-all-trades, aren’t put off by dynamic changes to the daily schedule, love working in a team and want to take a peek behind the very scenes of the festival – we’d love to have you on the production team!

IMPORTANT: We’ll need you to be available a few days before the festival and a few days after it – please bear this in mind when applying for this section. Production support may be required right up until the final screening of the festival, so be prepared for changes to your schedule both in the mornings and in the evenings.
This section is dedicated to supporting our guests and visitors during their stay in Kraków and at the festival. Your role will be to collect them from the airport or railway station and help them get to their hotel, a meeting, a screening or a jury session. We want them to feel at ease here, just as if they were at home. If you know Kraków like the back of your hand, are fluent in English and have no trouble making connections, this section is for you. We’ll provide you with all the necessary information and support whilst you’re working.

IMPORTANT: We do not require a car or a driving licence – we’ll take care of transport arrangements. What is important, however, is good availability, a sense of responsibility, the ability to make independent decisions and an openness to people.
Workshops for children, young people and adults are a permanent fixture on the festival programme. Every year, we give our audience the chance to get a closer look at the world of animation and to create something beautiful themselves. Helping to organise the workshops not only gives you the opportunity to learn about various animation techniques first-hand, but also to meet the exceptional artists who lead the workshops. Your role will involve preparing the venue and the necessary materials, as well as assisting with running the workshop. If animation is your passion, you enjoy interacting with people and are able to patiently support the creative process, then you’re sure to love this section!

IMPORTANT: You can combine your role in this section with volunteering in another festival team. We’ll provide selected candidates with further details regarding workshop support requirements once the recruitment process has concluded and we have the full workshop schedule.
Your role will involve creating content for the festival’s social media channels and documenting selected programme highlights. If you come up with new ideas for reels every day, your gallery is full of aesthetically pleasing shots, you love being at the heart of the action, and Instagram holds no secrets for you, then we’re looking for you!

IMPORTANT: Knowledge of tools such as Canva, CapCut or similar, used for creating social media content, is welcome. You’ll be working on your own equipment – a mobile phone with a good camera, plenty of storage space and a laptop will come in handy. Moments worth capturing at the festival happen all day long, so we’ll be asking you to be flexible with your availability, including a few days before the event.
