Musician and sound designer, interested in the interaction between music and other expressive means, he is the author of original soundtracks for short films, installations, performances, contemporary theater. He has collaborated with several artists in Italy and abroad (Simone Massi, Paolo Marzocchi, Henning Brokhaus, Michał Kosakowski, Carloni-Franceschetti, Mara Cerri, Magda Guidi or Julia Gromskaya).
His compositions have been presented in 123 countries and received over 70 national and international awards at festivals and other artistic events.
Stefano Sasso also performs electronic music and improvisations. He composed the soundtrack for Simone Massi's short film "Dell'ammazzare il maiale", which won the David di Donatello Award in the short film category and was selected as one of the 20 best animated short films nominated for the 2012 Academy Awards in Los Angeles. He is a professor of sound design at the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.
