The main theme in 2023 is social animation, which does not have to be boring at all. For three consecutive evenings we will watch animations from, among others, France, Croatia, Latvia, Portugal, Slovenia and Estonia. We will also watch short animations awarded and honoured at animation festivals: The Annecy International Animation Film Festival from France and the IFF Etiuda&Anima. Moreover, we will present Polish animations awarded industry prizes by the Polish Filmmakers Association. The program will also include the latest feature animations such as “My Love Affair With Marriage” dir. Signe Baumane (USA, 2022) or "No Dogs or Italians Allowed" dir. Alain Ughetto (Italy, 2022). The tone of both these animations is exceptionally personal. Signe Baumane`s animation is a story about the acceptance of an inner female rebellion, whereas the film "No Dogs or Italians Allowed", by combining poetry and realism, little and large history, in an original and personal style constitutes a testament to Italian emigration. The third feature animation we intend to show is "My Grandfather's Demons" directed by Nuno Beato (Portugal, 2022) – an animation about family ties, perfect for the whole family.
During KSAD (18th-21st July) workshops for young adults (16+) "In the Footsteps of Polish Kings to the Wawel Hill" run by Daria Godyń and Jacek Złoczowski will also be held. The workshops will start with a visit to the Wawel Castle, and in the following days the participants will be making an animation in the Animation Workshop at the Academy of Fine Arts.

Another, after ”Rocks in My Pocket”, feature animation by an outstanding author Signe Baumane, who fights the stereotypes of image and place of women in society.
From an early age, songs and fairytales convinced Zelma that Love would solve all her problems as long as she abided by societal expectations of how a girl should act. But as she grew older something didn’t seem right with the concept of love: the more she tried to conform, the more her body resisted. A story about the acceptance of the inner female rebellion.
