The fifth day of the Etiuda&Anima International Film Festival will abound not only in screenings of short films, but also in screenings of feature films, discussion panels and accompanying exhibitions. The most important element of the day will undoubtedly be the closing gala of the festival with the awarding of prizes in the Etiuda, Anima and ANIMA.PL competitions as well as the screening of selected movies among the award-winning films.
However, before the closing gala, there are many attractions waiting for all those interested. Already at 10 am, only in the large screening room of the Małopolska Garden of Arts, there will be a screening of Anna Błaszczyk's movie entitled Hug me: Honey Hunters. It’s a story of a growing up Teddy who wants to go to the legendary Golden Land on his birthday; this idea, however, is opposed by Daddy Bear.
A discussion panel of the Polish Filmmakers Association entitled "Why does an animated filmmaker increasingly accepts the role of a producer?" will begin at the same time in the small screening room. The entrance for this event is free.
Another feature-length film directed by Krzysztof Ostrowski entitled It’s Hard to Be a Supervillain will be screened at 12 pm. This unusual story about the relationship between father and son, Supervillain and Supervillain Junior, trying to take over the world will be enjoyed both by big and small cinemagoers.
Also at noon, in the small screening room, there will be a panel discussion on audio description in animation, the entrance for this event is free.
The last segment of "An Incubator for World Animation Talents" will focus on the issues of women in animation. Nine diverse productions, a story based on the book The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka in The Metamorphosis of Mr. Samsa (dir. Caroline Leaf), a story about two strangers who share a common ceiling and floor in their apartments, Strings (dir. Wendy Tilby) is just a foretaste of what viewers can expect.
In reference to the panel, the main subject of which will be the issue of audio description in animation, there will be a screening of films with audio description and a summary of the project "Let's meet four-handed" (at 2 pm, only in the small screening room). Four extraordinary films Spaceboy (dir. Veerle De Wilde), Land of glory (dir. Borbála Nagy), Noir-soleil (dir. Marie Larrivé) and Prince in a Pastry Shop (dir. Katarzyna Agopsowicz) are about growing up, moral dilemmas or happiness.
An important point of the program of the penultimate day of the festival will be the presentation of various films selected by Andrea Martignoni. As many as fifteen films, including Fantasmagorie (dir. Emile Cohl), Afterlife (dir. Ishu Patel) or Every Kingdom (dir. Secondo Bignardi) are just some of his proposals.
At 4 pm, in the small screening room, there will be a summary of the sculpturanima and motion projects, as well as a screening of animations made during the workshops.
At the end of the day, respectively at 4:30 pm, 5:30 pm and 7 pm, only in the screening rooms of the Małopolska Garden of Arts, three feature films will be available for the cinemagoers: Silver Bird and Rainbow Fish (dir. Lei Lei), 1970 (dir. Tomasz Wolski) and Dozens of Norths (dir. Koji Yamamura). After the screening of 1970, the participants will take part in a meeting with the director Tomasz Wolski, producer Anna Gawlita, as well as the producer of the presentation accompanying the aforementioned film, Robert Sowa and puppet maker, Sylwia Nowak.
To end the festival, as already mentioned, there will be a closing ceremony which will start at 8 pm and an hour later - screening of the awarded films only online, on the VOD platform.
