Born in 1976 in Tallinn, Estonian filmmaker, producer, film scholar, and university lecturer. Pikkov studied animation at\u00a0the Turku Arts Academy<\/a>\u00a0in Finland and since 1996 has directed several award-winning animation films, f.ex .: Cappuccino<\/em> <\/strong>(1996), Bermuda<\/em> <\/strong>(1998), Frank i Wendy<\/strong><\/em> (2003-2005), Body Memory<\/em> <\/strong>(2011), Tik-Tak<\/strong><\/em> (2015), Seving Machine<\/strong> <\/em>(2024). He is the author of articles on film and the publication Animasophy: Theoretical Writings on Animated Film<\/strong><\/em> (2010). He has published articles on film and written fiction books for children and adults.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2005 he graduated from the Institute of Law in\u00a0University of Tartu<\/a>, focusing on the media and author\u2019s rights. Pikkov is the author of Animasophy, Theoretical Writings on the Animated Film <\/strong><\/em>(2011).\u00a0In 2018 Pikkov got his doctoral degree at the Estonian Academy of Arts with thesis \u201cAnti-Animation: Textures of Eastern European Animated Film\u201d and today he works as a professor of animation at the same institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
