Natalia:<\/strong>
Hi Gerardo, so good to see you! I wanted to ask you about everything that has happened since winning the award at Etiuda&Anima. Unfortunately, you couldn\u2019t attend the festival in person, but your film made a huge impression. What has your journey looked like since then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerardo:<\/strong>
It\u2019s honestly been incredible. For me, Etiuda&Anima is one of the most important student film showcases in the world, and simply being selected was already a professional goal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So winning the Golden Dinosaur was something I absolutely did not expect. Student films are often the most creative and daring because people are still experimenting, still trying things. That\u2019s exactly what we tried to do with \u201cFamily Sunday.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Since then, the film has won around 30 international awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia:<\/strong>
Wow! Congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerardo:<\/strong>
Thank you. It\u2019s honestly surreal. We won Best Film in Zagreb, the Ibero-American Award in M\u00e1laga, awards in Huesca, Poitiers, Mar del Plata, Havana\u2026 and we qualified for the Academy Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Natalia:<\/strong>
That\u2019s huge!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gerardo:<\/strong>
It\u2019s crazy, honestly. Most of these recognitions happened after Etiuda&Anima. It felt like everything suddenly started snowballing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The film opened many doors professionally as well. Right now, I\u2019m in conversations with both a French production company and an important American independent film company about developing my first feature film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And all of this happened because of this short film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
