{"id":22725,"date":"2025-09-20T09:38:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-20T07:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/?p=22725"},"modified":"2025-09-28T11:21:53","modified_gmt":"2025-09-28T09:21:53","slug":"nancy-denney-phelps-en","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/en\/nancy-denney-phelps-en\/","title":{"rendered":"Nancy Denney-Phelps"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>She is a journalist writing about European animation and festivals as well as a producer of music for animation.&nbsp; Along with her composer\/musician husband <strong>Nik Phelps<\/strong>, she co-founded the <strong>Sprocket Ensemble<\/strong> dedicated to presenting live performances of original music with screenings of contemporary animation from around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1180\" height=\"700\" src=\"https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Nancy-Denney-Phelps.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-29164\" srcset=\"https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Nancy-Denney-Phelps.jpg 1180w, https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Nancy-Denney-Phelps-600x356.jpg 600w, https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Nancy-Denney-Phelps-450x267.jpg 450w, https:\/\/etiudaandanima.pl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/Nancy-Denney-Phelps-768x456.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1180px) 100vw, 1180px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Nancy Denney-Phelps<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nancy's writings have appeared in such publications as <strong>CARTOON <\/strong>and <strong>ANIMATOON <\/strong>as well as on her regular blog for <strong>AWN <\/strong>(Animation World Network).&nbsp; She is also a regular correspondent for ASIFA\/San Francisco and a member of the <strong>ASIFA <\/strong>International Board of Directors as well as an Ambassador At Large for the Emile Awards.<br> Nancy has served on numerous International Animation Festival juries and taught time management for animators at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, School of Art and Design.&nbsp; She is the pitching coach at <strong>ANIMARKT <\/strong>in Lodz, Poland as well as a member of their Brain Trust Advisory Board.&nbsp;&nbsp;She also awards the annual Nancy Award at the Kaboom Animation Festival in Amsterdam and is a member of the <strong>ANIMASYROS <\/strong>Festival Team. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her strong interest in the history of animation has led her to present programs on the history of animation traced through music at many animation festivals and conferences worldwide.&nbsp; She also works as advisor to several animation festivals and in 2019 was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the <strong>ANIMAKOM <\/strong>Animation Festival in Bilbao, Spain.
