The uniquely memorable character of Beryl became the focus for three more films <strong>Body Beautiful<\/strong>, <strong>Dreams and Desires - Family Ties<\/strong> and most recently <strong>Affairs of the Art.<\/strong> The politics of gender and oppression together with Joanna\u2019s obsessive fascination and delight with exploring the eccentricities of the human body<strong>, <\/strong>in particular the female form, became the central themes of her work. Her masterpiece is <strong>Britannia<\/strong> a savage indictment of British imperialism. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joanna\u2019s films have won many international awards, including Baftas, Emmys and 3 Oscar nominations.
