Regulations of the competition of student etudes - Anima<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a71<\/p>\r\n

ANIMA festival competition allows the applicants to submit animated films (including professional and independent films as well as student etudes) which do not exceed 30 minutes in length and were made between years 2014-2016. The preview copies of the films should be submitted to the festival in one of the following formats: DCP, Blu-ray, DVD-video or h264mov digital file. Films can be submitted only once and will not be allowed to enter the selection again in the following years.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a72<\/p>\r\n

The Festival Office shall collect the incoming competition registrations from 20th<\/sup> April until 31st<\/sup> July, 2016<\/strong>. The applicants should complete a registration form online www.etiudaandanima.com<\/a> and send a public or private link (with or without password) to the film (e.g. Vimeo, Youtube, etc.) with no expiration date, accompanied by a film summary, dialogue list in English, promotional materials including screenshots and the director\u2019s bio. The applicants can also send a DVD-video with a copy of the film to the postal address: IFF Etiuda&Anima, ul. Oleandry 1, 30-060 Krak\u00f3w, Poland<\/strong>. Preview screeners without filled in online entry forms will not be accepted.\r\nFestival does not charge any fee for the submitting of the film.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a73<\/p>\r\n

The decision whether the film shall be accepted into the competition will be made by the Artistic Director of the Festival who will consult the members of the Selection Committee. The applicants will be informed about their films being accepted into the competition until 30th<\/sup> September 2016<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a74<\/p>\r\n

The applicants whose films are accepted into the competition are obliged to deliver to the Festival organizers, at their own expense, the screening copies of their films in one of the following formats: DCP, Blu-ray, DVD-video or a link to a digital file until 15th<\/sup> October 2016<\/strong>. Failure to deliver a screening copy of a film before the deadline will result in withdrawing it from the competition.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a75<\/p>\r\n

The competition films are evaluated by the international Jury, foremostly on the basis of the artistic criteria. The Jury is headed by the Chairman of the Jury, selected by the Directors of the Festival from the members of the Jury. The Jury works and makes decisions in accordance with the Jury Proceedings Regulations formulated by the Chairman of the Jury with the consent of the other members of the Jury and the Festival Directors. The Secretary of the Jury, who is appointed by the Directors of the Festival, facilitates the proceedings of the Jury.<\/p>\r\n

\u00a76<\/p>\r\nThe following Prizes will be awarded at the Anima 2016 competition:\r\n

    \r\n \t
  1. Grand Prix \u2013 Golden Jabberwocky and a cash prize<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t
  2. Silver Jabberwocky<\/em><\/li>\r\n \t
  3. Bronze Jabberwocky<\/em><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\nSpecial Golden Jabberwocky for the Best Animated Student Etude of the Festival.\r\nThe Jury has also the right to award the Honorary Diplomas.\r\n

    \u00a77<\/p>\r\n

    The Directors of the Festival shall decide on the right and mode of awarding the Special Awards, including the Audience Award and the Student Jury Award. Under certain artistically justified circumstances, the Artistic Director of the Festival also reserves the right to award a \u201cThe Great Underestimated\u201d Prize to the most undervalued film of the competition.<\/p>\r\n

    \u00a78<\/p>\r\nThe official verdict of the Jury will be announced on 27th<\/sup> November 2016<\/strong>, at the official closing ceremony of the festival during which all prizes will be awarded. Should the winners be absent from the ceremony, the awards will be sent by post or handed over to them in a different manner within a month after the end of the Festival.\r\n

    \u00a79<\/p>\r\n

    The Festival Office deems itself responsible to conform to all the rules concerning the explotation of the films accepted into the competition.<\/p>\r\n

    \u00a710<\/p>\r\n

    The submission of the film for the Festival competition is equivalent to the agreement for three screenings of the film during the Festival and \u2013 if the given film is awarded a prize \u2013 screenings at the \u201cTravelling Etiuda&Anima 2016\u201d event, which is organized throughout Poland and abroad and presents the prizewinning films of the Festival. The Organizer has the right to use parts of the film shown at the festival (a trailer or 2-minute long part of film duration) and promotional materials for subsequent editions of the Festival free of charge.<\/p>\r\n

    \u00a711<\/p>\r\n

    All the transportation costs as well as any other shipment costs of the film copies submitted to competition shall be covered by the applicants, who are also responsible for paying all customs costs outside Poland. Applicants are obliged to observe customs regulations related to film transport. A pro forma invoice amounting to max. EUR 5 should be attached to all non-EU film shipments. Packages should be provided with the following sentence \u201cFor cultural purposes only \u2013 no commercial value\u201d.<\/p>\r\n

    \u00a712<\/p>\r\n

    DCP and Blu-Ray discs shall be returned at the Organizer\u2019s expense within 4 weeks from the closing date of the Festival to the address specified by the applicant. A notice should be given to the Festival Organizers about any changes in the return address not later than one week before the commencement. The Organizer is not responsible for damages resulting from giving a wrong address. The Festival is obliged to return the film copy in a condition not worse than due to a standard use.
