MASTERS OF POLISH ANIMATION Is a publication that comprehensively presents the achievements of Polish auteur animation – from historical and genre perspectives – by discussing the work of its most outstanding representatives, from the times of Jan Lenica and Walerian Borowczyk to the youngest artists who already enjoy a well-established position on the global animation scene, with Marta Pajek being a prime example.Book - Anima. Masters of Polish AnimationThe book contains 50 essays discussing the artistic output of the greatest masters of Polish animation (+ an epilogue devoted to up-and-coming young artists with modest output to date). It is accompanied by 4 DVDs with 53 films created by the artists featured in the book.”At the beginning of this century, I produced a 36-episode documentary series for Polish Television titled Anima, devoted to the output of the most outstanding Polish animation artists. This album, containing an analysis of the leading fifty artists (to be precise – there are 52 of them), complemented with a selection of their best films (to be precise – there are 53 films), is an extension of that concept”, writes the book’s author in the introduction. The essays devoted to the masters of Polish animation are preceded by an Intro (A Bit of History) and concluded with an Outro (Towards Mastery). The book also includes a documentary section (Biofilmographies / Bibliography / Discography / Filmography).
</oembed>
