MUYBRIDGE’S STRINGS / STRUNY MUYBRIDGE’A, reż./dir.: Koji Yamamura, muz./mus.: Normand Roger, Pierre Yves Drapeau, Denis Chartrand, Prod.: National Film Board of Canada, Polygon Pictures Inc., NHK, Kanada, Japonia/Canada, Japan 2011, 12’39’’, anim.
An animated film reflecting on movement, its ability to be reversed or stopped. The idea comes from the Muybridge’s experiment from 1878, in which he photographed a galloping horse. This spawned the series of famous still photographies consisting of consecutive phases of the horse’s gait. The images are then juxtaposed with a mother watching her growing up daughter, who will soon leave her family home for good.

Following the first spring rain on the first day after the very first Sunday a Red Cat has sat on a roof of an old house. It’s staring up at the moon wandering in the sky. But what about the house? Are there demons, or witches inside, maybe?
