A young girl, Anna, works as a shop assistant, but dreams about acting career. Despite her shyness, she decides to take part in a casting. A fourty-year-old actress, Ewa, supports the candidates during the auditions. When Anna cannot unblock herself during the audition, Ewa, quite unexpectedly, comes to her rescue. This meeting will change both women forever.

Romek Ziemba, a 26-year-old drummer from a small town is looking for his place in life. His refuge is an old construction barrack, which is used for rehearsals. He feels safe there, but he finally decides to face real life waiting for him outside. He tries, without success, to find work in Warsaw. His sister`s friendship, his father`s awkward and grouchy love, the friendship of Staszek, who is trying his hand at small business (buying a crane to be used for bungee jumps) – this is what his small town has to offer.

Last days of holidays. An 8-year-old girl whom everyone calls Owl decides to get to a deserted island in the middle of a lake. She finds an old dinghy and persuades her father to help her fix it. The problem is that at this very time her parents are facing a marriage crisis. Owl will have to deal with problems which are new to her.
